Kusu Pilgrimage Season 2025
SLA news release 29 September 2025
The annual Kusu Pilgrimage Season (KPS) will take place from 21 October 2025 (Tuesday) to 19 November 2025 (Wednesday).
2 One of Singapore’s Southern Islands, Kusu Island, is home to the popular Da Bo Gong Temple and the “keramat” built to commemorate the 19th century pious man Syed Abdul Rahman, his mother Nenek Ghalib and sister Puteri Fatimah. Every year during the Ninth Lunar Month, devotees make their way to Kusu Island for the annual Kusu Pilgrimage.
3 As weekends are a popular period during the KPS, to avoid large weekend crowds, visitors are encouraged to visit Kusu Island on weekdays. Visitors are advised to bring their own water and to wear comfortable attire and shoes to walk around the island. Overnight stays and bringing of pets to Kusu Island are not permitted.
Ferry Service
4 Visitors who wish to visit Kusu Island during the KPS are required to purchase a ferry ticket from the appointed ferry operator Singapore Island Cruise & Ferry Services Pte Ltd. The ferry service departs from Marina South Pier. Please refer to the Annex for information on how to purchase ferry tickets and on the ferry services.
5 Only ferries operated by Singapore Island Cruise & Ferry Services Pte Ltd are allowed to ferry passengers to Kusu Island and berth at the main jetty during KPS 2025.
6 Kusu Island bumboat jetty (for harbour craft) has been temporarily closed from 24 April 2025. All crafts and visitors are advised not to use it during the closure.
Kusu Island Keramat
7 This year, the Keramat caretakers will continue to provide tentage cover within their premises to receive visitors during KPS. Both sets of stairs, which lead up to and down from the keramat, will be open for use during the KPS to facilitate access to the keramat.
Heritage Performance at Da Bo Gong Temple
8 Siong Leng Musical Association, a traditional arts organisation that promotes Nanyin (Southern Chinese music) will be holding their annual heritage performance on 9 November 2025 (Sunday), from 5pm to 10pm, at the Chinese Temple.
